Ms. Cindy A. Torry, Owner of Torry Events LLC, has earned her designation as a Professional Bridal Consultant™ as a Distinguished Graduate of the Association of Bridal Consultant’s Professional Development Program.  As an experienced wedding pianist and event planner, she has managed event planning and piano music for social events with 20 to 1200 guests and budgets ranging from $200 to $350,000.  She loves working with people and is committed to her clients, working tirelessly “behind the scenes” to create and manage weddings and parties that will be memorable for her clients and their guests.  

An exceptional project manager, Ms. Torry will focus on finding affordable ways to incorporate the excitement and creativity associated with high-end special events into weddings, wedding-related events, and special occasion parties.  Whether it’s a “fairy tale” wedding, a “fashion-themed” sweet 16 party, or an elegant 50th anniversary party, she’ll work with clients one-on-one to develop a personalized plan for incorporating a theme, culture, hobby, interest, color, or motif into every component of their celebration – assuring a special event that will capture their most memorable moment. 

Ms. Torry has over 16 years of combined professional experience in special event management and marketing, corporate product marketing support, and non-profit communications.  She acquired her 10 years experience in planning successful high-ticket charity arts galas and VIP/major donor special events and receptions – many of which were attended by celebrities and well-known musical artists – as a former staffer of the State Theatre performing arts center in Central New Jersey, the National Multiple Sclerosis Society’s Greater North Jersey Chapter, and Ramapo College of New Jersey.   She has also helped many individual clients with event planning and music for their weddings and private parties.

At the State Theatre, Ms. Torry quickly gained a reputation as an exceptional project manager – working tirelessly “behind the scenes” to create and execute two full seasons of flawless and creative special events on a non-profit budget.  Her responsibilities included: the State Theatre Annual Benefit Gala, the most prestigious charity arts gala in Central New Jersey; the State Theatre Major Donor Dinner held on the theater’s historic stage; the Russian-art themed State Theatre Symphony Opening Night Reception at the Zimmerli Art Museum; the internationally themed series of Unique Lives & Experiences Celebrity Meet & Greet VIP Receptions; the State Theatre “Dinner with the President” Arts-in-Education event; backstage receptions with musical artists; and a host of other special events. 

She also managed the National MS Society’s MS Spring Golf Classic, a prestigious charity golf event attended by the “who’s who” of New York City media executives; the National MS Society’s Power of Performance Gala at the New Jersey Performing Arts Center; BD’s Helping All People Live Healthy Lives world headquarters employee event; and Ramapo College’s 3-day weekend-long college freshman orientation programs, as well as numerous student events.  She also served as the “Day of” Site Event Manager for mass market events including the National MS Society’s MS-100 Bike Tour Finish Line Party and the MS-Walk event in Ridgewood, NJ. 

As past volunteer president of the Young Associates Group of the Tomorrows Children’s Fund at Hackensack University Medical Center, she was responsible for managing young professional fundraising activities and volunteer programs in support of children with cancer and serious blood disorders.  She has also assisted many private individuals with event planning for their weddings and special occasion parties.

Cynthia A. Torry, Piano Stylist - Ms. Cindy Torry, Professional Bridal Consultant™ and Owner of Torry Events LLC, is an experienced piano stylist of 30 years.  For almost 10 years she has had the pleasure and privilege of working with brides and private clients to develop personalized musical programs on piano for their weddings and special occasions. She also currently serves as the resident pianist and vocalist for the Kinnelon Methodist Church in Kinnelon, NJ, and has served as the interim Music Director for the Ramapo Reformed Church in Mahwah, NJ. For almost 8 years, Ms. Torry was the volunteer piano accompanist for the Mahwah Ramapo Ridge School and Mahwah High School concert choirs.  She earned the title of first runner-up Bergen County Junior Miss in America's Junior Miss Program by earning top place in the talent competition. Ms. Torry was also a musical performance finalist in the Uncle Floyd Show Talent Search.

Prior to a career in special events, Ms. Torry was a Sr. Marketing Coordinator for Samsung Electronics America, Inc.’s Information Systems Division, and a Marketing Coordinator for CCMI/McGraw-Hill. She graduated cum laude from Ramapo College of New Jersey in January 1989 with a B.S. degree in Business Administration/Marketing and a minor in International Business. She is a 1984 graduate of Mahwah High School. Ms. Torry has completed select courses in the Arts Administration Certificate Program of New York University’s School of Continuing Education.
